Kapanui Kennels are a DOGS NZ registered kennel for miniature schnauzers based close to Wellington on the Kapiti Coast.

We were a member of the Accredited Breeder scheme of DOGS NZ. (formally NZ Kennel Club) however the scheme is no longer active having been removed from Dogs Nz. We do however continue our high standards of health testing above what was required for the breed under the said scheme.

Our kennel is home-based, meaning all dogs are nurtured and loved within our home. Pups are raised around both parents. Our breeding dogs enjoy an active happy lifestyle. We have five acres of grounds that can be explored within our property as well as an indoor play area.

I am a passionate breeder who enjoys all aspects of raising healthy puppies. I also help run a local schnauzer walking group and our dogs join us on many beach walks.

I enjoy meeting families and sharing my knowledge and love of this breed. Visits are encouraged once the pups are four weeks old.  The first few weeks are precious bonding time for mum and pup, and I respect this.  Daily updates via videos and photographs are sent from birth onwards to families.

Through our puppy programme pups are exposed safely to various sensory experiences. Living on a lifestyle block means the puppies can meet many animals safely and a variety of people. Even our local postie enjoys meeting each litter. This all helps to produce a well-rounded puppy that will adapt well to your family home.

All dogs bred have clear DNA health tests please see the tests listed under each dogs profile. Annual eye specialist checks are performed each year along with Cardiac and Patellar Luxation Checks. Certificates are available for inspection when you visit.

All puppies come with restricted papers not to be bred from.

We offer a forever home policy should circumstance dictate you can no longer keep your dog.

We are available for advice for the lifetime of your pup and love to see updates from our families.
